Procurement pledge for local R&D products, services

Chang: MySTI will accelerate technological adaptation and digitalisation.

PRODUCTS approved under the “Use Local R&D Products and Services” initiative (MySTI) will be given priority in government procurement.

Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Chang Lih Kang said approved products would bear the MySTI logo and be listed in the official inventory.

“There are 506 products that have been approved since July and the list can be found on www.mysti.gov.my

“Registration for the MySTI logo is currently free and open to eligible researchers and local companies,” he said at a dengue vector control programme in Bandar Behrang 2020 in Tanjung Malim, Perak.

Chang said the Prime Minister had expressed support towards MySTI as an important strategy to empower local technology.

MySTI, he added, was a strategy by the government to prepare the country towards achieving technological sovereignty and reduce dependence on external technology.

“It will also help accelerate the government’s technological adaptation and digitalisation process towards the development of an efficient and smart public service delivery system.”

Also present at the programme were Muallim Orang Besar Jajahan Toh Paduka Datuk Dr Safry Kamal Ahmad, Tanjung Malim District Council president Shazree Idzham Wahab Abdul Rahman as well as Science, Technology and Innovation Ministry technology transfer and commercialisation division secretary Boniface Edwin Manung.
