Tourism Golf Malaysia – Amateur Golf Tournament 2025 (TGMAGT) is set to return for its second edition on July 12 and 13 at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC).

Organised with Tourism Malaysia’s support, the two-day tournament aims to promote Malaysia as a golfing destination ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026).

The fully booked event will host 128 amateur golfers, including 20 international players mainly from South-East Asia.

Tournament organising chairman Datuk Richard Lee said the competition was open to both men and women.

“We intend to continue with Tourism Golf Malaysia to promote golf to tourists and position Malaysia as a destination for all seasons.

“Malaysia has the potential to be a leading golf tourism hub, especially with the number of high-quality courses that we have across the country,” he said after launching the event.

Also present was Tourism Malaysia advertising and digital division senior director Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim, who is the VM2026 head secretariat.

Participants will tee off on the East Course on July 12 and West Course on July 13, using the System 36 format.

Main sponsors for this year’s tournament include HSBC Malaysia, AirAsia, Batik Air, Mastercard, Tourism Malaysia, Mazda, CIT and MST Golf.

Attractive prizes await including 20 pairs of flight tickets sponsored by AirAsia and various travel vouchers.

A Mazda CX-8 is up for grabs as the hole-in-one prize.

The tournament is sanctioned by Malaysian Golf Association.
