DURING school holidays, parents often rack their brains trying to find things to do with their children.
This time round, why not participate in some nature healing?
From parks and recreational areas around the Klang Valley to scenic spots just outside the cities, Malaysia is blessed with spaces for fun with the family.
About 43km southeast from Kuala Lumpur, Sungai Tekala in Semenyih, Selangor, offers just the thing for relaxation and rejuvenation.
There are a variety of spots to choose from, including the Sungai Tekala Recreational Forest managed by the Forestry Department.
Open from morning to just before dusk, it is a great area for picnics, a refreshing swim or a bit of hiking to enjoy the lowland dipterocarp forest.
Those who seek an overnight camping experience can opt for tents set up at the campsite.
There is nominal fee for entry and basic facilities.
