City cross country run returns on July 6

A RUN taking on Kuala Lumpur streets, “Go For It! FTKLAA Cross Country”, returns on July 6 for its 38th edition.

Taking off at Padang Merbok, the event features 11 categories in 3km, 7km and 15km distances, as well as the popular 5km Fun Run.

Registration closes on June 10 or once 2,000 participants have signed up, while the early-bird promotion ends tomorrow.

Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur Athletic Association (FTKLAA) president Datuk Seri Dr V. Pulainthiran said the event aimed to encourage more urban folk to take part in healthy activities.

“Participants can look forward to an exciting line-up of lucky draws, which include exclusive merchandise and holidays getaways,” he said.

Pulainthiran said the event had seen increasing participation every year and he was hopeful of seeing more runners this year.

“Last year, entries for school categories increased to 539 participants. There were also 81 foreign participants,” he added.
