Night market theme for hotel’s buka puasa selection

THE charm of Malaysia’s night markets is present at the Ramadan buffet in Aloft Langkawi Pantai Tengah’s Nook restaurant.

This year’s edition has a wide selection of traditional and contemporary street foods to transport guests to their hometowns’ night markets.

There is the signature Mi Ketam Banjir of stir-fried noodles generously topped with unlimited crispy baby crabs, besides the comforting Sup Tulang Rusuk Berempah, a fragrant spiced rib soup.

Gulai Kawah Utara has tender braised beef brisket slow-cooked in aromatic spices.

The Aneka Bakar-Bakar selection offers a spread of grilled fish, squid, prawns and satay.

For Middle Eastern-inspired flavours, there is fragrant Bukhari Rice paired with Roasted Lamb, an exquisite combination of aromatic spices and tender, slow-roasted meat.

From the Pondok Padang, there are traditional favorites such as Ayam Salai, Daging Salai, Gulai Keting and Masak Lemak Pucuk Ubi.

Over at the Chinese corner, there is Chicken Rice along with pasar malam (night market) favourites such as Fried Koay Kak and Fried Oysters, available on a rotational basis.

For those craving street food sensations, the live stations serve up local favourites like roti john, crispy pasembor with fresh vegetables and peanut sauce, and the ever-popular Mango Sticky Rice.

For dessert, there is Sangkaya coconut ice-cream, a treat reminiscent of bustling night markets.

Adding an element of surprise to the feast, the chefs will also prepare a special dish each week, ensuring guests have something exciting to look forward to.

The “Memori Pasar Malam 2.0” buffet dinner is available until March 30 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.

It is priced at RM108nett per adult and RM54nett per child and for senior citizen, with an exclusive 10% discount for Langkawi residents.
