SUBANG Jaya assemblyman Michelle Ng will seek funds from the Selangor Education Department to undertake repairs at a school damaged in a thunderstorm last Sunday.

“During my visit the following day to the affected school, I saw that many roofs had been damaged during the thunderstorm.

“The visit was carried out with representatives from the district education office. We have advised the affected school on the next course of action,” she said in a video posted on her social media page.

On Sunday evening, a thunderstorm caused havoc in several neighbourhoods including SS19, SS18 and SS14 in Subang Jaya.

“All the traders at the SS19 Ramadan bazaar suffered losses after their tents were destroyed by bad weather,” said Ng.

“My office was able to source and distribute new tents as replacements to the affected traders the following day.”

She also thanked Subang Jaya City Council’s (MBSJ) Skuad Pantas, or emergency response team, for its quick action in clearing trees that fell during the storm.
