MagnumCares, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of Magnum Group, is celebrating 41 years of giving back to the community.
One of its flagship programmes is the CSR Welfare Homes Outreach which is held during festive seasons.
The tradition spanning more than four decades continues to light up the lives of senior citizens, communities with disabilities and orphans nationwide.
With contributions amounting to about RM750,000 in donations, festive goodies, groceries and ang pow, the initiative has spread joy to over 15,000 people for a memorable Chinese New Year celebration this year.
In Selangor, MagnumCares touched the hearts of over 7,700 individuals from 52 welfare homes with contributions totalling RM157,000.
The Home Enhancement Programme (HEP) is a cornerstone of the CSR effort.
With the motto “New Year, New Start”, donations were channelled to rejuvenate and improve welfare homes around the country.
Across all states where Magnum operates, HEP enhances living conditions and well-being through 3R activities – repairing, refurnishing and replacing.
From installing eco-friendly LED lights to upgrading furniture and appliances and refurbishing therapy and play areas for special needs children, the programme ensures sustainable impact for beneficiaries.
“As we mark 41 years of our Welfare Homes Outreach programme, we’re proud to continue spreading hope and joy to the communities we serve,” said Magnum vice-president, East Coast & Selangor regional head Lim See Chin.
“The Year of the Snake reminds us of resilience and renewal, and this festive season is the perfect time to celebrate new beginnings together.
“Our efforts aim to bring brighter tomorrows to those in need, living up to our slogan of ‘For You, With You’.”
