The Genting Highlands and Johor Premium Outlets’ success formula has made them unique, standalone destinations that garnered top votes.
THE country’s premium outlet centres have achieved yet another milestone as consumer favourites at Putra Brand Awards (PBA) 2024.
Winning gold in the Transportation, Travel and Tourism category of the prestigious awards were the Genting Highlands Premium Outlets and Johor Premium Outlets.
The 2024 edition of the honours, presented in Kuala Lumpur, was the result of votes from more than 50,000 consumers across multiple categories.
Receiving the award, Genting Simon Sdn Bhd president and chief operating officer Jean Marie Pin Harry expressed pride in the win.
“The recognition, based solely on the outcome of votes cast by the Malaysian public, shows how the product offering and brand promise of our premium outlet centres resonate with consumers.
“Over the years, our brand has evolved to stay ahead of market trends and consumer demands beyond our core promise of offering savings of up to 65% daily,” he said.
Pin Harry spoke about how the outlets were transformed into upmarket retail and tourism destinations committed to sustainability.
“Both outlets have grown into industry landmarks, adapting to shifts in consumer behaviour, retail strategies and broader economic trends.
“Today, they are unique, standalone destinations,” he added.
Celebrating the win, he acknowledged contributions of all Genting Simon staff.

Launched in 2010 by the Association of Accredited Advertising Agents Malaysia in association with Malaysia’s Most Valuable Brands, the awards is the only brand award voted on by Malaysian consumers utilising a robust consumer research methodology developed by IPSOS.
