Lifestyle shopping destination Aman Central in Alor Setar, Kedah, has unveiled its Whimsical Spring Blossoms celebrations for Chinese New Year.
Set against an oriental garden- inspired backdrop at its Central Atrium, the festive programme running until Feb 16 promises visitors a memorable shopping experience.
There are various contests, redemptions, workshops and performances that will appeal to all in the family, said Aman Central marketing communications assistant general manager Ken Chin.
“We always look to elevate the experience for visitors. With this being Visit Kedah Year, we are confident that 2025 will prove fruitful for all,” he said at the launch.
“The snake zodiac symbolises positive energy, maturity, constancy and opportunity, making this an apt time to embrace its spirit and potential, and strive towards progress and greater things in the year ahead,” Chin added.
Also present were Kedah human resources, Chinese, Indian and Siamese affairs and non-governmental organisations committee chairman Wong Chia Zhen and Belleview Group director Grace Ho.
They were joined by Belleview Group leasing assistant general manager Brian Ho and Aman Central human resources manager Peng Hooi Chin at a loh sang session.
Scores of shoppers watching from levels above were also treated to exhilarating lion dance and thundering drum performances by SM Keat Hwa students.
In his speech, Wong said Chinese New Year was a time to reflect on past accomplishments, be thankful for life’s blessings and look forward with hope and confidence.
“Celebrations like these have united Kedah’s diverse communities for generations. Beyond the visual wonders, it also brings people together through shared cultural pride and ensures that priceless aspects of heritage will be preserved for generations to come,” he added.
Chin said the public could take part in the Whimsical Tik Tok Contest by recording a video with the festive decorations and uploading it to the platform with hashtags #AmanCentral, #ACContest and #ACCNY.
