FESTIVE buffets with all things Christmassy are dominating the food scene this December.

Royale Chulan Seremban is also welcoming the festive season with buffets that the whole family can enjoy.

The celebratory feasts hosted by the hotel’s Asiatique restaurant include a sumptuous dinner on Christmas Eve followed by high tea and dinner on Christmas Day.

Guests will be spoilt for choice with over 100 dishes from appetisers to desserts.

Executive chef M. Suresh, who has been helming Asiatique for over 20 years, said: “Besides the Christmas specials, there are plenty of other choices, including pastas and rice dishes that will please even fussy eaters.”

Dinner guests can expect treats like beef Wellington – juicy Australian striploin encased with savoury duxelles, spinach and puff pastry.

The golden puff pastry is crisp with the meat still blushing pink in the centre, hallmarks of a perfectly done beef Wellington.

Also for dinner is a selection of grilled meats and seafoods, including lamb shoulder, squid, prawns and sausages.

The festive menus also include Roasted Chicken with Apple and Herbs, Lamb and Mushroom Stew, Marry Me Chicken, Cioppino Soup, Tuscan White Bean Soup, Sticky Pomegranate Salmon and the pomegranate-studded Jewel Rice.

Marinated overnight with yogurt, cumin, paprika and Cajun spices, the roasted chicken combines Asian and Western flavours, while the Marry Me Chicken showcases succulent meat smothered in a cream-based sauce.

Among the soup choices is the Italian American-inspired Cioppino featuring a hearty tomatoey stew packed with clams, prawns and mussels.

The Tuscan White Bean Soup is less punchy but equally tasty, particularly when savoured with a crusty roll.

Suresh said some dishes for Asiatique’s Christmas buffets were crowd favourites.

“We still maintain the tradition of preparing festive treats like stollen and yule log – the stars of our festive dessert table.”

Asiatique’s German stollen, a yeasted loaf studded with dried fruit, is a definite must-try, along with its moist Christmas Pudding with Vanilla Sauce and holiday classic yule log.

The Christmas Eve Dinner is priced at RM110nett per adult, RM60nett per child and RM80nett for senior citizens.
