Selangor MB announces RM500 aid for Meru, Kapar flood victims

SELANGOR will distribute RM500 aid to families affected by the recent floods in Klang who had to seek shelter at temporary relief centres (PPS).

Last week certain parts of Meru and Kapar were hit by floods, forcing 119 families with 482 individuals to evacuate and move to temporary shelters at SK Binjai and Bukit Kapar Community Centre.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the financial assistance will handed out soon to ease the difficulties of those affected by the floods.

“Each head of households (KIR) who had registered at the PPS and took shelter will be given financial aid. Names registered at the PPS will help facilitate the aid distribution,” he said after the closing ceremony of the Selangor Education Summit held at Setia City Convention Centre in Shah Alam.

Asked about the total number of victims who would get the aid, Amirudin said as of now it stood at 119 families.

All affected victims have since returned home and both PPS are now closed as of Sunday (Dec 1)
