MALAYSIA Airports announced the winners of the Kulinary Dining Awards 2024, a highlight of the Kulinary 2024 food festival that celebrated the best food and beverage outlets at KL International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

The evening was attended by Malaysian celebrities such as Scha Alyahya, Awal Ashaari, Thanuja Ananthan, Ceddy Ng and Uyaina Arshad, who had the opportunity to indulge in award-winning dishes prepared by the top eateries.

Also present was local celebrity chef Datuk Redzuawan Ismail, better known as Chef Wan.

This year, Malaysia Airports teamed up with Tatler Dining for the first time for the event.

Each eatery was evaluated through a meticulous process by mystery diners and a panel of experts including from Tatler Dining, industry leaders and tastemakers.

This ensured a comprehensive assessment of the best dining experiences KLIA has to offer visitors.

The Kulinary Dining Awards gave recognition to F&B operators across 11 categories including Best Ambience, Best Services, Most Innovative Dish, Best Newcomer and Best Overall.

“This year’s winners have truly redefined what airport dining can be.

“From top-tier service to creative, high-quality dishes, these outlets represent the crème de la crème of airport dining,” said Malaysia Airports commercial services senior general manager Hani Ezra Hussin.

“This isn’t just about offering great food, it is about raising the bar for every F&B outlet at our airports.

“We’re challenging our operators to push boundaries, innovate and deliver a dining experience that stands out on the global stage,” she added.

First launched in 2016, Kulinary is an annual showcase hosted by Malaysia Airports to recognise outstanding F&B outlets at the airport.

This campaign highlights culinary excellence in food variety, quality and value, while also motivating the operators to continually elevate their service standards, thus ensuring passengers enjoy an exceptional dining experience.

From Sept 27 to 29, travellers and visitors were invited to enjoy the festival, which hosted over 300 guests daily.

Attendees could savour 16 diverse dishes and beverages while participating in activities led by celebrity chefs and culinary experts.

Highlights included a food photography workshop with food stylist Trisha Toh, food plating with Noritake, and cooking demonstration by chef Datuk Fazley Yaakob.

Visitors had to purchase the Kulinary booklet which includes 10 vouchers, granting guests the opportunity to taste all the winning dishes at the event area for just RM40.

Those who purchased the booklet also received an exclusive set of wooden utensils.
