Spreading early festive cheer

Mid-Autumn Festival came early for staff of Star Media Group (SMG) in Penang as a state DAP delegation led by its publicity secretary Heng Lee Lee delivered mooncakes to celebrate the occasion.

On hand to receive Heng was SMG journalist Lo Tern Chern during the visit at The Star Pitt St office in Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling, Penang.

Others present were Senator Dr RA Lingeshwaran, Sungai Puyu assemblyman Phee Syn Tze, Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Wong Yuee Harng, Pulau Tikus assemblyman Joshua Woo, Bagan Jermal assemblyman Chee Yeeh Keen and several Penang Island city councillors.

Iconic Hotel Penang also came for a visit to mark the celebration, with SMG senior news editor Alex Teng receiving the mooncakes from the hotel’s sales and marketing director Khor Bee Ai.

Also present were the hotel’s senior marcom executive Lee Pei Ying, marketing executive Tan Sin Tien and SMG client brand marketing senior representative Wong Mei Choo.

Separately, AC Hotel Penang sales manager Jenny Ting and marketing consultant Cheam Sin Khai also presented mooncakes to SMG deputy news editor Tan Sin Chow in celebration of the festival.

The festival is traditionally celebrated on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month. This year, it falls on Sept 17.
