LICENSED pasar tani and pasar karat traders who were operating at Shah Alam Stadium in Section 13 are to be allocated lots as per redevelopment plans for the Shah Alam Sports Complex (KSSA) project.

Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said trading lots were included in KSSA plans.

“There will be lots for pasar tani and pasar karat traders.

“The state will ensure all of them are licensed traders,” he said in response to complaints and concerns from traders alleging that only a portion of them would be given trading lots once KSSA was completed.

He said the state was looking at flexibility of trading hours instead of restricting businesses to operating only on Sundays.

“We can allow them to trade on Saturdays and Sundays,” said Amirudin.

“At KSSA, traders will have better trading lots to sell their wares once the changes have been implemented,” he said after launching the state-level Jalur Gemilang Campaign at Auditorium Dewan Jubli Perak, Bangunan Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah in Shah Alam.

The campaign saw over 1,500 Selangor government employees waving the Jalur Gemilang in the run-up to National Day celebrations.

Amirudin also handed over national flags to Selangor local council heads including Shah Alam mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim, Subang Jaya mayor Datuk Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim and Petaling Jaya mayor Mohamad Zahri Samingon as well as district officers.

Also present were state executive councillors Papparaidu Veraman, Anfaal Saari, Dr Mohammad Fahmi Ngah, Datuk Rizam Ismail, Jamaliah Jamaluddin and Najwan Halimi, Selangor Speaker Lau Weng San and state financial officer Dr Ahmad Fadzli Ahmad Tajuddin. — By MEGAT SYAHAR
