SHUTTLE services are now available for Slim River Hospital visitors and patients.

Hospital director Dr S. Sivanandarajah said the hospital’s van would move within a 1km radius around the premises to pick up anyone, especially patients, heading to the hospital for treatment.

“Visitors can park their cars outside the hospital’s premises and the van will pick them up.

“The van can carry up to four people at one time and it will always be on the move, ready to provide service to others after dropping off passengers,” he said at the launch of the acute haemodialysis unit in conjunction with Slim River Hospital’s 23rd anniversary.

“For those with mobility issues and requiring the van service, they can call the hospital at 05-450 8000 for pick-up,” he said.

On the acute haemodialysis unit, Dr Sivanandarajah said it was mainly for patients who were admitted with complications from food poisoning or viral infections.

He said it was a momentous occasion for the hospital to be getting the unit, which has four dialysis machines.

“It took a lot of planning with Perak Health Department before getting the approval to make the unit a reality.

“The unit will ensure optimal care is given to patients as we always prioritise their health and to ensure the best treatment for all our patients,” he said.
