THE second edition of the NPC-Macrokiosk Muhibbah Awards this year is set to continue promoting unity and goodwill across Malaysia.

The awards, jointly presented by the National Press Club of Malaysia (NPC) and enterprise solutions platform provider Macrokiosk, is aimed at recognising individuals, groups or organisations that exemplify the true essence of muhibbah.

In a statement, NPC president Datuk Ahirudin Attan said the award’s inaugural series last year reminded Malaysians of the importance of living together in harmony.

Six winners won the inaugural edition of the awards last year.

“I am particularly pleased to witness the continuation of this award series.

“By honouring those who exemplify the muhibbah spirit, we celebrate the unity of our nation while highlighting the importance of kindness and compassion in our society.

“We hope the Muhibbah Awards will eventually earn its recipients a place in history as they are individuals and organisations that have truly gone beyond the call of duty to help one another.

“Many acts of selfless service have gone unnoticed and it is high time that kindness was acknowledged and rewarded.

“We aspire for this second series of the award to further fortify our society and foster unity across our nation,” Ahirudin said during the launch.

Also present at the launch was Macrokiosk co-founder and chief executive officer Datuk Kenny Goh.

Goh said last year’s edition of Muhibbah Awards had effectively fostered stronger connections and driven positive change for Malaysia.

“We are excited to once again work with NPC to launch the second series of the Muhibbah Awards.

“We hope the awards will continue to inspire more Malaysians to care for each other,” he added.

The award carries a cash prize of RM2,000 and a certificate.

Winners will be selected by a rotating panel of judges comprising media editors and senior journalists.
