A collaborative effort via the rental of purple excavators has led to a RM80,000 donation to the Women’s Aid Organisation (WAO).
Tractors Malaysia, the exclusive Caterpillar dealership under Sime Darby Industrial Sdn Bhd (SDISB), collaborated with four companies – Nestcon Infra Sdn Bhd, Landhon Builders Sdn Bhd, Seri Pajam Development Sdn Bhd and Pembinaan Tetap Teguh Sdn Bhd – to raise the funds through rental of the Caterpillar 323GX Hydraulic Excavator.
The contribution, donated to WAO’s “She Rises” programme, commemorates this year’s International Women’s Day celebration themed “Inspire Inclusion”.
The handover ceremony was held at SDISB headquarters in Puchong, Selangor by Sime Darby Industrial South-East Asia managing director Liew Thiam Huat.
The companies were represented by Nestcon Infra director Datuk Lim Jee Gin, Landhon Builders director Yap Kian Hong, Seri Pajam Development director Ten Fui Jean and Pembinaan Tetap Teguh Group corporate executive director Datin Angie Ng.
Also present were Caterpillar Inc sales director Chen Binling and WAO partnership director Amnani Abdul Kadir.
Liew said the donation to WAO reflected SDISB’s commitment to corporate social responsibility and its belief in the power of collective action to drive positive change.
“The funds will aid WAO in its mission to provide support and shelter to women and children affected by domestic violence, and to advocate for women’s rights in Malaysia.
“At SDISB, we recognise the importance of fostering an inclusive environment where everyone, regardless of gender, has equal opportunities to thrive while at work.”
“The recent International Women’s Day celebration serves as a reminder of the work to be done in achieving gender equality in our society, and that SDISB is proud to support organisations like WAO that champion such causes,” Liew said.
Tractors Malaysia is a leading heavy equipment marketeer in the fields of mining, construction, power systems, government, primary and marine industries.
WAO, a non-profit organisation (NGO), is a service provider for domestic violence survivors in Malaysia.
Its mission is to end violence against women and promote gender equality in Malaysia.
