IN a bid to infuse warmth and meaning into this year’s Hari Raya celebrations, Agrobank premiered a poignant short film titled Janji Amir, which underscores the message of valuing every moment with family and friends.

Directed by Bobby Husaini, the film tells the story of a young man named Amir who faces deep regret over his treatment of his mother following her death, which led to a life-altering event.

Through this touching story, Bobby said his intention was to remind viewers of the fleeting nature of life and the importance of treasuring those closest to us.

The eight-minute web film, posted on the bank’s social media channels, was produced by Tangerine Pictures Sdn Bhd and stars Beto Khusairy, Nadiya Nisaa and Amirul Affendi.

Beto, who plays the title character Amir, said the role had made him more aware of the importance of appreciating his family and friends.

“It’s crucial to appreciate our loved ones while we have the chance, as we never know when we might lose them.

“This applies even if I am meeting someone for the first time; we truly don’t know when or if there will be a next time.

“So we have to be the best version of ourselves.

“This film carries a universal message,” he said.

The film was Agrobank’s latest creative endeavour and ongoing efforts to uplift community spirits and strengthen familial bonds through meaningful content.

It was launched at the Dadi Cinema in Pavilion Kuala Lumpur by Deputy Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Arthur Joseph Kurup.

Agrobank president and chief executive officer Datuk Tengku Ahmad Badli Shah Raja Hussin emphasised the bank’s commitment to fostering noble values within Malaysian society, hoping the film would encourage viewers to appreciate their parents and loved ones more.

“We hope the web film serves as a powerful tool in promoting love and gratitude towards our parents and loved ones, echoing its poignant tagline #jangansampairalat, (avoid the mistake),” he said.

Agrobank also released a music video Esok Hari Raya featuring its senior management on its YouTube page highlighting the institution’s dedication to spreading messages of love and community values this Hari Raya.
