RESIDENTS of Taman Sri Putra Mas treated the security guards and cleaners in their Sungai Buloh neighbourhood to a meal and duit raya, in recognition of the essential workers’ efforts and contributions to their community.

The residents pooled together RM5,000, which went towards organising a buka puasa meal and presenting duit raya to the workers and their children.

Taman Sri Putra Mas Residents Association (TSPMRA) organised the event held outside its office.

Some 60 residents also came to break fast and have a meal together with the security guards, cleaners and their children.

“This gathering was held to foster a sense of togetherness among the residents,” said TSPMRA chairman Som Pong Pichan.

“It also highlights the importance of extending support to those who contribute to the well-being of our community, and serves as a reminder of the values of compassion and inclusivity that lies at the heart of TSPM.”

He said TSPM, established in 2009, is a relatively small neighbourhood with some 400 houses and an estimated population of 1,000 residents.

He added that such an event was held for the first time since the new RA committee was appointed in June 2023.

Residents Abdul Kareem Meera Mohaideen, Bobby Loh and Leow Boon Huat handed the duit raya to the workers and their children.
