THE Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) Endowment Fund has committed to financing community welfare and sustainable development goals, and contributing RM18,000 to assist those in need.

On March 30, MPAJ contributed RM2,500 to Mohd Ali Ahmad, a temporary banquet worker, whose daughter has a heart defect, through its endowment fund trustee committee.

On March 20, the fund distributed RM8,000 to eight welfare homes and orphanages within the municipality at a handover ceremony held at Padang Perbandaran MPAJ in Pandan Indah, Ampang in Selangor.

Duit raya contributions worth RM3,000 were also handed over by council president Dr Ani Ahmad and secretary Julaihah Jamaludin to orphans during the same event.

Earlier, RM4,500 was presented to three MPAJ staff members with health issues, including one whose home was destroyed in a fire.

The contributions were expected to reduce the recipients’ festive expenses.

Established last year, the fund designated for welfare activities, has amassed RM140,687.71.

MPAJ said it welcomed public contributions to support ongoing initiatives and programmes aimed at benefitting Ampang Jaya residents.

Contributions can be made via cash transactions at MPAJ revenue counters, online transfers to MPAJ’s Bank Islam account (121220100446909) or through MPAJ’s Icomm platform.

The public can call MPAJ via 03-4285 7378 or email pelanggan.hasil@mpaj.gov.my
