THE Malaysian Gifts and Premium Association (MGPA) is setting its sight on international business opportunities with the launch of MGPA Connect+ blueprint.

The blueprint, among others, aims to empower association members by providing assistance in export programmes and marketing strategies.

MGPA president Ivan Loo Chong Yuen said the blueprint aimed to foster stronger cooperation among the industry players in Malaysia.

“With this initiative, we believe we are in step with the government in uplifting the country’s economy,” he said in his speech during the MGPA 15th anniversary dinner at HGH Convention Centre in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur.

Loo also thanked Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade) for its support for the blueprint.

At the event, Loo led an oath-taking ceremony for the new MGPA committee line-up for the 2023-2026 term.

He thanked past committee members for laying a strong foundation and ensuring the continued success of the association.

Organising committee chairman Vincent Tong Hooi Leong attributed the success of the dinner to the committee’s support.

“It was not an easy job and would not have been possible without help from all of you,” he added.

Also present were Matrade Exports Promotion and Market Access Division (Lifestyle and Life Sciences Section) director Razida Hanim Abdul Razak, Taiwan Trade Centre (Kuala Lumpur) director Eva Peng and MGPA founder and honorary life president Alan Ong.

MGPA represents manufacturers, designers, service providers, wholesalers, importers, exporters and retailers from the gifts industry.
