PKNS Complex to be demolished rumours untrue, says PKNS

THE Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) has denied the rumours circulating on social media regarding the proposed demolition of the PKNS Complex Shah Alam.

According to their statement, the project planning within PKNS-owned development areas in central Seksyen 14, Shah Alam is part of urban revitalisation efforts in Shah Alam that were expected to commence in the third quarter of this year.

“This project with an estimated cost of approximately RM2bil will involve several plots in Seksyen 14, including SACC Mall and the SACC Convention Center. Importantly, from the initial stages of the project, it does not involve the PKNS Complex.

“On the contrary, this area will be upgraded to provide better and more comfortable facilities, offering a more satisfying experience for visitors and the local community.

“This rejuvenation project also aligns with PKNS's efforts to help make Shah Alam a carbon-neutral city, with upgraded buildings utilising a ‘centralised chill-water’ system alongside green energy.

“Throughout this upgrading process, business operations at the PKNS Complex will continue as usual, allowing visitors unrestricted access to purchase their necessities.

“PKNS will file a police report and report to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) regarding the dissemination of this false news.
