AFTER more than a year, a factory worker and his wife are still waiting for their wedding photos and videos.
The claimant, who wanted to be known only as Deen from Pasir Gudang, said the wedding ceremony took place at his bride’s house in Parit Jawa, Muar, on Nov 12, 2022.
“I came across the services provided by the photographer based in Kajang, Selangor, on Facebook,” the 28-year-old factory supervisor said when met outside the Consumer Claims Tribunal office in Johor Baru.
He said he decided to hire the photographer based on good reviews posted on the latter’s Facebook page by customers who included influencers and celebrities.
He made the first payment of RM800 via online banking in October and the second payment of RM1,200 in November 2022.
“The photographer and videographer came to Muar on our wedding day to do photo and video shoots,” said Deen.
According to the claimant, the photographer promised to deliver the photos and videos within two weeks after the wedding but failed to do so.
Deen said he called the photographer repeatedly but his calls went unanswered.
Eventually, the photographer blocked his mobile phone number.
Undeterred, Deen turned up unannounced at the photographer’s office in Kajang on Jan 26.
During the meeting, he said the photographer promised to return RM900 for not delivering the videos but failed do so.
“We suspect the photos and the videos did not turn out well,” said Deen.
Tribunal president Lee Chee Thim ordered the respondent, who did not attend the hearing, to return RM2,000 to the claimant within two weeks.
