Public urged to help find parents of abandoned baby boy in Subang

EFFORTS are being made to find the parents of an abandoned baby boy, says Subang Jaya assemblyman Michelle Ng.

“Currently the baby is under observation at the neonatal intensive care unit due to a fever. It has been made to understand that the police are asking the public's help to identify the parents.

“This case is being investigated under section 317 of the Penal Code which criminalises the abandonment of children," she said.

Ng believed the parents were not from well-to-do families.

“The baby is one-month-old and is not abandoned upon delivery. It appears that the parents did try their very best to care for the child, but there may be certain circumstances that we are not aware of,” she said during Subang Jaya’s Potong Royong programme.

She said she would be visiting the baby at Hospital Shah Alam later this afternoon (March 6).

Yesterday (March 5), it was reported by StarMetro that some residents found a baby boy at the doorstep of a laundromat at Subang Perdana Goodyear Court 4 in USJ 8 around 5am.
