SIRIUS Group joined hands with Great Heart Charity Association (GHCA) to spread joy by hosting a Chinese New Year outing for senior citizens.

The group comprises members who have a passion for making a difference.

Some 25 volunteers from Sirius Group and GHCA came together to share festive joy with 28 elderly residents from Pusat Jagaan Rumah Orang Tua Chik Sin Thong Klang dan Pantai.

The event started off with an outing to Aeon Mall Bukit Tinggi shopping centre in Klang, where the senior citizens were treated to a shopping spree for Chinese New Year outfits, worth RM200 per person.

This was followed by a delightful Chinese New Year reunion luncheon, where the volunteers bonded with the senior citizens in this time- honoured tradition.

The event brought smiles and comfort to the elderly folk, who enjoyed the outing.

“In observing the Year of the Dragon, we’re inspired by the creature’s noble qualities of strength and compassion,” said GHCA managing director Ric See Swe Poh.

“Thanks to Sirius Group and our dedicated volunteers, we have been able to extend these virtues to some of the elderly folk in our community.”

He said the collaboration exemplified the power of friendship, community spirit and positive impact by charitable organisations on people’s lives.

“Let us continue to embody the virtues of the dragon, by fostering kindness, resilience and solidarity within our communities,” said See.
