Consultant appointment process underway for Penang Island Local Plan

Penang Island City Council (MBPP) is still in the process of appointing a consultant to prepare the draft Penang Island Local Plan.

State local government, town and country planning committee chairman Jason H’ng Mooi Lye said MBPP would make an announcement soon regarding the next action, which is the publicity session.

“The publicity session will begin after MBPP has appointed a qualified consultant,” he said.

Deputy Chief Minister II Jagdeep Singh Deo said after the session was completed the draft would be presented to the state for its consideration, reported Buletin Mutiara.

The local plan contains policies and strategic planning of a structure, with a more detailed land use map for local planning authorities.
