Deputy Minister drops in for festive visit to media group

SEVERAL Penang DAP leaders led by Deputy Finance Minister Lim Hui Ying dropped by the Star Media Group (SMG) office, bearing festive greetings and mandarin oranges.

On hand to receive them at the office of The Star on Pitt Street in George Town were SMG senior news editor Alex Teng, client brand marketing general manager Simone Liong and chief photographer KT Goh.

Lim, who is Penang DAP secretary and Tanjong MP, said she hoped the country would be blessed with prosperity in the Year of the Dragon.

“I wish all Malaysians, particularly those of Chinese descent, a happy Chinese New Year.

“I have faith in the unity government and I am confident it will lead us to a better future,” she said during the visit.

Also present were Penang DAP deputy chairman Jagdeep Singh Deo, who is also Penang Deputy Chief Minister II, Penang DAP publicity secretary Heng Lee Lee (Berapit assemblyman) and Penang DAP committee member RSN Rayer (Jelutong MP).

Pengkalan Kota assemblyman Wong Yuee Harng, Seri Delima assemblyman Connie Tan Hooi Peng, Pulau Tikus assemblyman Joshua Woo, Sungai Puyu assemblyman Phee Syn Tze, Bagan Jermal assemblyman Chee Yeeh Keen and several local councillors from the party were also part of the delegation.
