Malaysia Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) held a media appreciation night which drew 60 representatives from leading news agencies.
Among those at “MyCEB’s Friendly Session with Media: A Million Relationships, One Story” event were Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry secretary- general Datuk Roslan Abdul Rahman and MyCEB chairman and chief executive officer Azman Tambi Chik.
Roslan said, “The media has played a pivotal role in the success and resilience of the business events industry.”
Meanwhile, Azman expressed his hope that engagements with the media would strengthen Malaysia as a magnet for international business events supported by MyCEB and industry partners.
At the event, MyCEB revealed that it would be adopting a multi-faceted approach to foster stronger ties with media agencies, including offering direct invitations to attend programmes organised by MyCEB.
Furthermore, MyCEB will engage in roundtable discussions with media representatives to exchange insightful perspectives.
Reflecting on the achievements of 2023, MyCEB shared that it recorded total public relations value of RM174.8mil from January until mid-December.
It sees this significant figure as evidence of media support.
MyCEB has secured 305 events scheduled between 2023 and 2030, with nearly a million international and local delegates expected to attend.
