Fundraiser for charter anniversary on Jan 13

Ng welcomes well-wishers to contribute to the event.

LIONS Club of Perak Silver State will hold a fundraising dinner in conjunction with its 18th charter anniversary celebration.

Its president Dr Richard Ng said the dinner would be held at New TS VIP Restaurant, Jalan Raja Permaisuri Bainun, on Jan 13 at 6pm.

He said the club hoped to raise RM20,000 to fund its projects.

“A ticket for the dinner is RM100 per person.

“Proceeds will be used to fund various projects including climate action and environmental efforts, caring for senior citizens, feeding the hungry, restoring sight as well as raising awareness on diabetes and childhood cancer, besides other humanitarian projects,” Ng told StarMetro.

“Those interested can contact us by Jan 10 and we are expecting to have about 15 tables for the dinner.

“We also welcome well-wishers who can contribute in cash and kind anytime,” he added.

Ng said social activist Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye was expected to attend the dinner as guest of honour.

He said Lee, the National Alliance of Safe Community chairman, would be delivering a keynote address on “How to provide exemplary services to the community” based on his past experience.

“Participants will also be presented a certificate of attendance signed by Lee,” Ng said.

He said Pertubuhan Kebudayaan dan Orkestra Cina would be performing at the event, entertaining guests with traditional Chinese music in conjunction with Chinese New Year.
