Party spots to ignite the night

GET ready to welcome the new year with a bang.

Fireworks, concerts and magic performances are lined up for revellers to join the New Year’s Eve countdown tomorrow at several places in Klang Valley.

In Kuala Lumpur’s Sunway Velocity Mall, revellers can expect to be part of the biggest soirée and welcome the year 2024 in a spectacle of music and excitement.

The party starts from 4.30pm, starting with a feast at the PingMin Market.

The mall is also hosting an electrifying countdown featuring A-list artistes, such as SonaOne, 3P, Firdhaus, Diorlying and Uriah See.

The skies are expected to be lit up for seven minutes by fireworks at midnight.

The Exchange TRX is set to host its maiden New Year’s Eve countdown which promises to be an evening of thrilling experiences.

The party is set to unfurl at Raintree Plaza as the mall is pulling out all the stops by featuring renowned artistes like South Korean rapper B.I, singer-songwriter Leo, British award-winning EDM group Clean Bandit and other local performers.

As night falls, there will be a mesmerising drone show and fireworks display.

The mall will also host a variety of food vendors offering a diverse array of cuisines.

LaLaport Bukit Bintang has planned a countdown hosted by emcee Aloy at Level 4, Rooftop Garden, that involves DJ sets, live rap sessions and rocking live band performances.

You can also write your New Year wishes and affix the notes on the wish board.

Over in Selangor, IOI City Mall in Putrajaya has lined up six hours of fun-filled activities at Symphony East, located at Phase 2 of the mall.

Special performances by Didi and Friends, live shows by Gary Chaw, Misha Omar and other local artistes are part of the plan.

Don’t miss out on the performance by Astro’s The Chosen One finalists.

Magicians and fire-eaters will also be on hand to entertain guests.

From 10pm onwards, Jeryl Lee, Jestinna Kuan, Perry Kuan, Ryota Katayama, Nicole Lai, Jie Ying, Juztin Lan, Joe Chang, Jasmine Chang, Danial Wong, Jack Yap and Te3n will be delivering show-stopping performances.

At i-City Mall, guests will be starting the new year with a fitness journey as there will be three hours of continuous dance to keep the crowd entertained.

While waiting for midnight, gear up for a countdown and fireworks display.

Citta Mall in Petaling Jaya will be firing off its traditional salute to the ending of the year with its annual fireworks display at its New Year’s Eve party.

Emcee and former Suria Radio presenter Baki Zainal will be hosting, flanked by a star-studded line-up of performers, starting with award-winning singer-songwriter Faizal Tahir.

The stage will continue to sizzle throughout the night with instrumental anthems by White Percussion Unit and hip hop dances by the Untitled Dance Crew, while comedy-magician duo Romantic Mushroom will bring on the giggles with their double act.

Guests can also sing along to the tunes of Lost Radio that will perform its chart-topping playlists.

There will also be stage games to engage guests. Activities begin at 10.30pm.

At the stroke of midnight, guests will be entertained by a stunning display of fireworks.

Over at Sunway Lagoon, the Pinkfish Countdown celebration will take place at Surf Beach, starting from 4pm.

Headlining the sonic extravaganza is the world- renowned American DJ and singer-songwriter KSHMR as well as fellow international EDM heavyweights such as Coone, Jeffrey Sutorious and Andrew Rayel.

Bands such as Bate, Mister Ariffin, Haikal Ahmad, Ralph’s, and Sentralize will take the spotlight at the party.

Petaling Jaya folk can head over to The Square at Jaya One where DJ Vennie and DJ Von, will charge up the party.

Live band performances start at 7pm and food trucks will be available as well.

Pets are also welcome at the Jaya One party.

RapidKL released a statement on its Instagram page that its Light Rail Transit (LRT), Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) and monorail networks will extend their operating hours on New Year’s Eve until 1.30am.

Passengers are advised to use tokens or their Touch and Go (TnG) card to have a smooth journey to their desired destinations.
