MPK in reshuffle exercise to improve services


EIGHT Klang Municipal Council (MPK) heads of department are involved in a reshuffle exercise while two council departments will be restructured from Jan 1.

Klang Municipal Council (MPK) president Noraini Roslan said the exercise was aimed at achieving operational efficiency and improving service delivery.“It is also to encourage the heads of department to share their experiences and expertise with other departments,” she said at MPK’s fullboard meeting.

The council’s Health Department will be merged with the Public Market Management Division.

The new entity will be headed by current Health Department director Azmi Muji.

The Licensing Department and Morning and Night Markets Development and Control Division will be merged too,” added Noraini.

Quantity Surveying Depart-ment director Nurul Huda Bahrom will now head the Human Resources Department (HRD).

HRD director Long Shalawati Mohd Sahit will move to the Property Valuation and Management Department as its deputy director.

Market and Hawkers Manage-ment Department director Azhar Samsudin has been transferred to the Social Community Development Department, while current director Normah Zainul Abideen will now head the Internal Audit Department (IAD) while its previous head Suziana Fiee will be the director of the Quantity Surveying Department.

MPK’s Finance Department director Zate Aziana Abdul Rahman is now Licensing Department head.

Finance Department deputy director Mohd Fairus Ali will step up to head the department.

It is also understood that MPK’s Planning Department deputy director Yusrina Mohamad Yusof, who oversaw the department following its former head Zailani Panot’s optional retirement, has been promoted to the post of director.

Noraini added that the council’s Garden and Recreational Department has been renamed Landscape and Recreational Department effective Nov 23.

On a separate matter, she said assessment tax notification letters for the first half of next year was being distributed.

“Property owners can expect the letters in a week or two.

“They must pay before Feb 29 to avoid a RM20 fine.”

Mobile counters will be stationed in several neighbourhoods including Bandar Bukit Tinggi Giant hypermarket from 9am to 1pm on Dec 9 and 10 and at Surau Al-Faizin in Sungai Kapar Indah from 9am to 1pm on Dec 16 and 17.
