IN CONJUNCTION with Deepavali celebrations, One World Hotel brought cheer to 45 children and nine caretakers from Pertubuhan Kebajikan Anak Yatim Mary.

The group enjoyed a trip to Kuala Lumpur Bird Park in Perdana Botanic Garden and buffet lunch at the hotel.

Upon reaching the hotel in Bandar Utama, Petaling Jaya, the children and caretakers were greeted by One World Hotel general manager Alvin Koh and department heads.

The group was ushered to Cinnamon Coffee House for a buffet lunch where they were served food such as pizza and burger as well as dessert that included homemade ice cream.

While dining, the children were entertained by a bubbly clown with his magic tricks and balloon sculptures.

The children also participated in fun and games with the clown.

The hotel team was also treated to several dance performances by the children.

Then it was time for some Deepavali money packets and goodie bags from Koh.

“We are delighted to share the happiness and joy of the Festival of Lights and hope that our efforts can bring cheer to these children,” he said.

“We are pleased to have the opportunity to continuously contribute towards the well-being of those in need,” he added.

After spending some time chatting with Sister Malar, the principal of the home, the hotel team learned that this was the first time the children had been on an outing in three years because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Malar said the children were excited and talked for days about the bird park and the hotel leading up to the visit.

At the end of the event, a surprise cake-cutting ceremony was arranged to celebrate Malar’s birthday.

One World Hotel’s business partner, Mohamad Habibullah of Prestige Lane Adventures Sdn Bhd, provided transportation for the group.
