SUNWAY Group bagged three awards at HR Excellence Awards 2023 including “Employer of the Year”.

Sunway took home Gold for “Employer of the Year” and “Excellence in Employee Volunteerism”, and Bronze for “Excellence in CSR Strategy”.

Chief human resources officer Foo Shiang Wyne noted that the group would be celebrating its 50th anniversary next year, and said this milestone would not have been possible without the dedication, commitment and hard work of its staff.

“These awards reaffirm our people-first organisational culture that promotes well-being and community engagement.

“We will continue to focus on robust and progressive talent development strategies that improve job satisfaction and engagement to engender loyalty and a genuine sense of purpose.”

Sunway is also committed to uplifting the livelihoods of the underprivileged and marginalised through corporate social responsibility (CSR) programmes that involve its staff.

The company engages its people through a myriad of initiatives under its flagship #SunwayforGood campaign, which has positively impacted over half a million Malaysian beneficiaries through the years.

Established in 2013, the HR Excellence Awards was initiated as a platform to highlight innovative strategies and initiatives in human resources.

It honours best-in-class HR practices through a peer-reviewed process by a jury of HR practitioners across Asia.

The 11th edition covers Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Singapore and the Philippines.

Sunway also clinched nine wins at Talentbank Graduates’ Choice Awards 2023.

Over the decades, Sunway has grown into one of South-East Asia’s leading conglomerates with a 16,000-strong workforce across 50 locations worldwide.

Sunway said five foundational pillars had been instrumental to the brand’s success – people, sustainability, leadership, business and community.
