THE streets of Pandan Indah were bustling with activity during Ampang Jaya Municipal Council’s (MPAJ) Car-Free Day.

Some 600 cyclists took part in a leisure ride, co-organised with Warga Ampang Riders (WAR) and KPJ Ampang Puteri Specialist Hospital.

MPAJ president Dr Ani Ahmad said the car-free event was to encourage eco-friendly commuting and foster a sense of community and well-being among participants.

“During the event, MPAJ advises residents on green efforts such as separation at source and proper ewaste recycling.

“These practices require minimum effort but can have a cumulative effect if done by most residents,” she said.

Ani added that the event had seen growing involvement among the community since it was initiated in 2018.
