ENJOYING mooncakes with loved ones and friends is a time-honoured tradition during Mid-Autumn Festival.

Some people savour these traditional treats with Chinese tea to balance out the sweetness.

There are 13 rather interesting mooncake flavours at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur this year which can be paired with a selection of Chinese teas.

Among the highlights are the ever popular Pu Er Ripe Loose-Leaf tea and Lapsang Souchong – Chinese black tea with smoky aroma and distinctive taste.

As for the mooncakes, there are four flavours with single yolk – White Lotus Seed Paste, Summer Black Truffle Lotus Seed Paste, Bamboo Charcoal Skin with Pandan Lotus Paste and Shangri-La Tie Guan Yin Tea Lotus Seed Paste.
