MISS International Malaysia 2023 is preparing for its grand finale scheduled for Aug 18 to 20 in Kuala Lumpur.

The pageant’s national director Jawed Khan said the competition would see 20 women vying to represent Malaysia for the Miss International title in Tokyo, Japan.

The Peninsular Malaysia edition of the beauty pageant is currently underway, with its grand finale on July 29.

“The pageant aims to contribute to the community by establishing a platform where beauty queens collaborate to make a positive difference across various sectors,” said Jawed.

“We also want to promote Malaysia’s rich culture and enhance leadership development among young people.”

He said the beauty pageant had the potential to cultivate a positive perception of Malaysia, allowing individuals to witness and appreciate the unique offerings of each state within the country.

“For this pageant, we are offering the young women mentorship programmes, leadership training and community service projects to help develop their skills and encourage them to give back to society,” he said.

“The contestants are currently competing in the peninsular, Sabah and Sarawak editions of Miss International Malaysia 2023,” said Jawed.

Twenty finalists will then compete in the national Miss International Malaysia 2023, he said.

He added that the national finals of Miss International Malaysia 2023 would have the top five contestants from each edition and additional five finalists selected by him from the remaining pool of participants.

The finals for the Sarawak edition will be on July 8, while the Sabah edition finale is scheduled for tomorrow.

“Miss International Malaysia Beauty Pageant 2023 will be a powerful platform for young Malaysian women to showcase their talent, intelligence and beauty while also promoting positive values and making a difference in their communities,” said Jawed.
