Kepong Entrepreneurs Park needs a new exit to Jalan Kepong heading towards Kuala Lumpur.

Shopowners said the existing exits of Jalan Metro Perdana Barat and Jalan Metro Perdana 7 in front of AEON Big Kepong were insufficient and caused congestion, especially at the traffic light junction.

They proposed that a small road be created to link Jalan Metro Perdana 7 and Jalan Kepong, bypassing the traffic lights.

Currently, the area proposed for this route is located under the MRT track connecting the Metro Prima and Kepong Baru stations.

Shopowner Tan Cheng Yong hoped the local authorities would expedite the project.

“The traffic here is bad, especially after 5pm on weekdays.”

Local activist Yee Poh Ping said a letter about the issue had been sent to several relevant Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) departments.

He said the issue was also raised with MRT Corp several years ago.

“We asked for a small road to be built under the track.

“But they declined, as it was not part of the original design.

“Now that the MRT project has been completed, we hope the authorities can revisit the proposal,” said Yee.
