 Always in search of new places for our BarHop weekly column, we found ourselves trooping up the streets of Telawi in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur, to CuBar for some Latin American flair. Even if you’re not familiar with the Telawi area, CuBar decked out in vibrant colours under the sun is easy to spot from a mile away.

We walked in and were glad it seemed easy to get a table, yet apprehensive because empty resto-bars are never a good culinary sign.
