KBG Welfare Association, which began doing charitable work during the Covid-19 movement control order, wants to keep the momentum going.

The association contributed three laptops, two handphones and money to Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Wangsa Maju Seksyen 2 in Kuala Lumpur.

The RM6,500 contribution was presented to the school in the hope that students from the B40 group would benefit from it.

Its deputy chairman Datuk Seri Simon Loi said the cash aid would help provide food for B40 schoolchildren during recess time.

“We hope these children will be able to eat and learn well in school.

“We also gave the laptops and handphones, which are important learning tools, to ensure no one is left behind,” he said.

Loi said the association welcomed anyone who needed help.

Every case received will go through a verification process first, he said.

“Most of the cases we have received so far are based on information we obtained from people.

“Contributions come from our own members as we do not collect donations,” he said.

Loi added that they would be working with notable philanthropists on other projects in the near future.

In December 2020, the association donated 250kg of food and RM15,000 to Zoo Negara.

Those seeking help can call the association at 03-8741 4413 or visit its office at No.11b, Jalan M/J 1, Taman Majlis Jaya, Sungai Chua, Kajang, Selangor.
