230 ratepayers win Ipoh City Council’s lucky draw

IPOH: A total of 230 people will receive their prizes soon in the Ipoh City Council’s lucky draw for ratepayers who paid up their assessments.

The first 200 lucky winners would receive their consolation prizes, while the first 30 winners would be walking home with the main prizes worth RM76,000 cash in total.

The selection of winners was held live via the council’s Facebook.

Ipoh City Council mayor Datuk Rumaizi Baharin said the first prize winner will walk home with RM20,000.

“We have selected the winning names of all the 230 winners, but for the first 30 names picked, we will set up another date to do another draw on who gets which prize,” he said after the process of picking the lucky names at the city council building on Wednesday (April 5).

Rumaizi said this was the second year the council was offering cash prizes.

“We have also provided 30,000 mini bags with the council logo for those who had paid their taxes early.

“Starting this year, the council has opened up participation to those who make payments without arrears, via all payment methods.

“This is to encourage citizens to make payments without having to come to the counter but are still eligible to participate in the lucky draw,” he added.
