IN the wake of the recent floods in Johor, MMAG Holdings Bhd (MMAG) donated RM100,000 to help the affected victims.

MMAG chairman Tan Sri Mohd Khairul Adib Abd Rahman said the donation was made in response to the devastating floods, especially in Segamat that left more than 10,000 people displaced.

He said the donation was presented to Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa, who is the Sekijang MP, at her service centre in Sekijang.

“We are all deeply saddened to witness the floods, forcing many families to evacuate their homes and leaving many in urgent need of assistance,” Mohd Khairul said in a statement.

“We hope our donation drive will help our community recover and rebuild after this crisis.

“We are also grateful to have the support of the Health Minister in this initiative, and we hope that this event will bring together the community to offer support and assistance to those affected by the floods.”

MMAG together with its courier and logistics arm, Line Clear Express and Logistics Sdn Bhd, will also offer free aid delivery as part of flood relief efforts for one month, starting in March and ending in mid-April.

The donated items will be collected from all participating hubs and sent to the Line Clear Express Yong Peng hub, which will then be delivered to the Sekijang MP’s service centre.

“The public can send essentials such as clothes, blankets, diapers, dry food, clean water, sanitary items and toiletries to 16 drop-off points at the Line Clear Express hubs,” said Mohd Khairul.

The donation and free aid delivery initiatives are part of the company’s ongoing corporate social responsibility commitment to give back to the community it serves.

Donated goods for flood victims will be delivered to areas that have been severely impacted such as Kluang, Kota Tinggi and Segamat, as well as other districts that are in need of assistance.
