MSU Medical Centre (MSUMC) will meet the healthcare needs of the Selangor MAC futsal team, according to a memorandum of understanding between them.

The medical centre’s chief executive officer Zahri Abd Ghani and the Selangor MAC team manager Mimi Afzan Afza signed the MoU.

Witnessing the signing ceremony were Raja Muda of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and Prof Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid.

Tengku Amir Shah is the Football Association of Selangor (FAS) president, while Mohd Shukri is the MSUMC founder and president.

Also in attendance were FAS secretary-general Muhammad Izrin Nabil, MSUMC medical director Prof Dr Badrisyah Idris and Selangor FC chief executive officer Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon.

Under the MoU, MSUMC will sponsor RM200,000 to Selangor MAC.

Other benefits of the MoU include medical checkups for players and the management team, consultation, advice and treatment for outpatient medical issues, ambulance services during the home game in the Malaysia Premier Futsal (MPFL) and Malaysia Cup 2023, medical support throughout this year’s MPFL and Malaysia Cup, dental advice and basic treatment, and use of the physiotherapy centre.

In addition, FAS staff, players and affiliates may enhance their careers through the full range of academic programmes at Management and Science University, including micro-credentials and through Accreditation of Prior Experiential Learning (APEL).

The collaboration between MSUMC and FAS will not only allow MSUMC to help ensure that the health and fitness of the futsal team players are optimal, it will also let FAS form a competitive futsal team at the national and regional level.

The collaboration will also play an important role in the development of the MSU futsal team in the Liga Super Futsal IPT 2023, particularly in the use of the FAS and Selangor MAC training facilities and expertise.
