AFTER a two-year hiatus because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Penang Chinese Chamber of Commerce (PCCC) will be holding its annual Chinese New Year open house once more.
Its president Datuk Seri Hong Yeam Wah, speaking at a press conference, said the open house would be held on Feb 4 from 11am to 1pm at the Lim Lean Teng Hall in Han Chiang High School.
The last open house by PCCC was held in 2020 with then Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng in attendance.
Organising chairman Datuk Seri Choot Ewe Seng said about 2,000 guests were invited this year.
“Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow, state assembly speaker Datuk Law Choo Kiang, ministers, executive councillors, MPs and diplomats from various countries are expected to join us.
“We are also inviting our counterparts from other chambers of commerce, community leaders, PCCC members and the more than 50 business groups under PCCC.
“A buffet will be served and we have arranged a series of traditional and contemporary performances to entertain guests.
“We will also be giving donations to several charitable organisations in Penang on that day,” said Choot, who is also PCCC executive adviser.
Also present at the press conference were PCCC life honorary president Tan Sri Tan Kok Ping, PCCC deputy president Datuk Tan Hiang Joo and committee members.
