Hotspots to usher in 2023

IF YOU haven’t decided where to go tonight to usher in the new year, here’s a list of venues to consider.

In Kuala Lumpur, Lalaport Bukit Bintang will be hosting the “Pingmin Rooftop Countdown Celebration” where over 90 vendors and LaLaport BBCC tenants will be on hand to create a carnival-like atmosphere.

Live music acts will take place from 8pm at the Central Rooftop Garden on Level 4.

Sunway Velocity Mall’s New Year Eve party starts from 5.30pm and includes a concert at 9pm featuring live performances by Ayda Jebat, Priscilla Abby, Haqiem Rusli, Vanessa Reynauld, Skipper, JE Pong, Gaston Pong, Liesl-Mae and Han Xiao Ai.

Guests can expect carnival games and food trucks.

Sunway Putra Mall’s countdown event will be hosted by Daryl B, while Son of a Policeman, Midnight Fusic, Ramayan and Kirstie Maximus will be performing from 7pm.

There will also be game booths where guests can win shopping vouchers. Activities begin at 3pm.

Over in Selangor, IOI City Mall in Putrajaya has lined up six hours of fun-filled activities such as lucky draws and live performances by Hydra and other local artistes such as Ziana Zain, Masdo, Geraldine Gan, Floor 88, Andi Bernadee, Belle Yu Yian, Syameer Azmi, Bil Musa, Zul Hadi and Hasif Upin.

There will also be a magic show by Mark and Pinky.

Twenty food trucks will be parked at Symphony East, located at Phase 2 of the mall.

Buskers and fire eaters will also be on hand to entertain guests around the Symphony East, Symphony West and West Garden areas.

In Shah Alam, i-City mall has lined up fireworks to ring in the new year.

Its food bazaar and artisan market comprising over 100 stalls will be there until Sunday.

Over at Sunway Lagoon, the Grand Wave New Year Countdown celebration will take place at Surf Beach, starting from 6pm.

DJs Alan Walker, R3HAB, Havana Brown, Mariana BO and RayRay as well as local artistes like Joe Flizzow, Yonnyboii, Sonaone, DJ CZA, Jakeman, Ben Utomo, Ironboy, Pradaa and 24.kRight will be performing.
