A FINNISH Christmas-inspired pop-up is on display at Gudang in Great Eastern Mall, Kuala Lumpur, until Dec 18.

The pop-up promotes designs from Finland that celebrate functionality and Scandinavian minimalism that is mostly inspired by nature.

Finland Ambassador to Malaysia Sami Leino said the pop-up was an opportunity to introduce classic Finnish Christmas-style products to Malaysians.

“I invite them to come take a look and hope they will find these traditional Finnish designs interesting,” he said.

The designs show off images of Finland’s natural wonders, promoting harmony, functionality and simple beauty found every day.

The renowned brands featured at the pop-up are iittala, Fiskars, Arabia, Rörstrand and Moomin.

Visitors can check out mugs, glasses, plates, knives, gardening tools, scissors, pots, vases and decorations at the pop-up.

The prices of the items range from RM90 to RM1,773.

The artists behind the designs are Oiva Toikka, Tapio Wirkkala, Aino Alto, Kaj Franck, Alfredo Haberli and Alvar Aalto, to name a few. – By AMIRAH CHE RAMLAN
