Asian financial house opens Kota Kinabalu branch

INTEGRATED financial house PhillipCapital celebrated the opening of its Kota Kinabalu branch in Sabah, located on the ground floor of Menara MAA.

The ceremony was attended by Local Government and Housing Minister and Sabah Finance Minister II Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, who said he was pleased to see financial players investing in the state.

The branch, called Phillip Investor Centre, offers both securities and derivatives broking services in futures products such as commodities, precious metal and energy plus other services that cater to stocks and Contracts for Difference (CFDs).

Phillip Capital Sdn Bhd, which was formerly known as Phillip Futures Sdn Bhd, was incorporated on Oct 7, 1995.

It is a subsidiary of the PhillipCapital Group with its headquarters based in Kuala Lumpur.

It has 11 branches across Malaysia and holds a capital markets services licence which allows it to deal in securities derivatives.

It is the first broking company in Malaysia to introduce online trading for local and international financial and commodities futures products, offering a wide range of innovative services to retail and high-net worth individuals and institutions.

In August 2022, Phillip Capital Sdn Bhd commenced its stockbroking business in an effort to provide more trading selections to clients as a one-stop broker house.

PhillipCapital Group emphasises the importance of investor education and has been organising free seminars and webinars on investing and trading strategies.

So far, the group has conducted seminars in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Baru, Penang, Melaka and Kuching.

Last year, Phillip Capital Sdn Bhd was awarded three Bursa Excellence Awards in the first runner-up position, namely Best Overall Derivatives Trading Participant, Best Retail Derivatives Trading Participant and Best Institutional Derivatives Trading Participant.

Including Malaysia, PhillipCapital has financial hubs in 15 countries.
