THE Salvation Army Ipoh in Perak has launched a fundraising campaign, “Caring Hearts 3.0”.

Campaign chairman Lee Kong Yee said the Covid-19 pandemic had impacted donations while its expenses continued to rise.

“We had been organising an open day and food fair at our premises annually since 1990 but could not do so for the past two years,” he said.

He added that the campaign’s tagline was “Help us care together”.

“Caring Hearts 3.0 replaces the annual open day event usually held in October each year,” said Lee.

“This fundraising drive will be conducted online and in person.”

He said Salvation Army Ipoh hoped to raise about RM150,000 for several purposes.

“W provide residential care to over 50 boys and girls in two homes and over 30 senior citizens in our home for the elderly.

“The funds raised will also be used for our regular food assistance programme and for emergency relief during disasters.

“Donations can be made through online transfer, cash or cheque.

“All donations are tax-deductible,” Lee said, adding that the campaign would end in November.

The Salvation Army Ipoh’s social and community services are located at Children’s Home, No.255, Jalan Raja Permaisuri Bainun (05-254 9767); Boys Home, No.4367, Jalan Tambun, (05-545 7819); Home for the Aged, Jalan Bersatu, Jelapang, (05-526 2108); community services at No.125, Jalan Taman Star, Wah Keong Park, (05-545 3269) and Family Thrift Store, No.26, Jalan Besar, Tambun (05-548 3314).
