SELANGOR government has assured the people that the administration is committed to fast-tracking its agenda to build affordable housing for B40 families and middle-income earners.

Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government hoped to provide quality homes via the Rumah Idaman high-rise projects.

He attended the ground-breaking ceremony for Rumah Idaman Bukit Jelutong in Shah Alam, along with Permodalan Negeri Selangor Bhd (PNSB) chief executive officer Raja Ahmad Shahrir Iskandar Raja Salim and Gagasan Nadi Cergas Bhd chairman Dr Muhamad Fuad Abdullah.

The project in Section U8 consists of 1,260 semi-furnished apartments. Each 1,000sq feet unit is priced at RM250,00.

The homes are being built by Gagasan Nadi Cergas in partnership with PNSB’s subsidiary, PNSB Construction Sdn Bhd.

Amirudin said the units with three bedrooms and two bathrooms were ideal for families.

The units will have a television, refrigerator, kitchen cabinet, closets, water heaters and air conditioners.“Two parking bays will be provided for each unit,” said Amirudin.

Residents will also enjoy facilities that include swimming pool, multipurpose hall, yoga deck, badminton court, study room, children’s playground, jogging track, rooftop garden and barbecue area.

There will also be a kindergarten and community farm.

“People are grateful for this development as it is surrounded by a mature area in Bukit Jelutong, which is close to the Shah Alam town area and has direct access to major highways, including the Guthrie Corridor Expressway and New Klang Valley Expressway,” added Amirudin.

Raja Ahmad Shahrir said Rumah Idaman offered affordable homes for first-time owners.

“PNSB is committed to making dreams to own homes a reality in strategic locations in Selangor, which will include Gombak, Sepang, Kuala Langat, Klang, Petaling, Kuala Selangor and Sabak Bernam districts,” he said.
