TWO sisters from a single-parent household are able to further their studies and pursue their dreams, thanks to TLK Scholarship.

The education aid, which was set up in 2019, is aimed at helping residents in Raub, Pahang.

Recipient Chee Zi Qi, 18, will join her sister Chee Wei Nee, 19, in pursuing a two-year diploma course in business administration at SEGi University & Colleges in Kuala Lumpur.

Wei Nee received the scholarship last year and started studies, while her sister would be joining her in September.

The scholarship’s namesake, Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker, who is Deputy Youth and Sports Minister, said the sisters lived with their mother in Taman Sempalit Aman in Raub.

“Although Zi Qi comes from an impoverished family, she managed to overcome obstacles and is dreaming of working in the corporate world one day. With this TLK Scholarship, hopefully Zi Qi can achieve her dreams,” said Ti.

The entire cost of RM29,000 will be fully funded under the TLK Scholarship programme through Kelab Harmoni Malaysia.
