Air Selangor: Supply recovered 84% of areas affected by Langat 2 WTP closure


WATER supply recovery to the 397 areas affected by the temporary shut down of the Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant (Langat 2 WTP) has reached 84%

According to a statement by Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor), as of 6am on Friday (Aug 12), water supply at 46 areas in Kuala Lumpur region and 16 areas in Hulu Langat region had not fully been recovered.

These places include Balakong, Taman Perkasa, Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Taman Cheras Hartamas, Taman Muda, Taman Bukit Segar, Taman Cuepacs, Taman Padan Indah and Taman Bukit Permai.

Meanwhile, the three affected areas in the Petaling region had gotten back their water supply.

The Langat 2 WTP closure was due to oil spillage at Sungai Semantan, Karak, Pahang caused by an accident on the KM75.9 Karak-Bentong Highway heading towards Kuala Lumpur.

Air Selangor also advised consumers to let water flow from the tap until it is clear before daily use.
